FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES

The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences came into being in January 2017 following the approval given by National Universities Commission (NUC) after a Resource Verification by NUC in December 2016. The first intake of students to run the first semester of 100 level programme in the Faculty took place in May 2017. The Baze
University Basic Medical Sciences Curriculum is custom built to reflect and conform with the high-class global standards which the University exhibits.

BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES
The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences of Baze University has established a curriculum that is customized to reflect the high-class global standard which epitomizes the University. The two Departments of Anatomy and Physiology at take-off recently became expanded with the inclusion of the Departments of Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences and Radiology and Radiation Sciences. The Faculty will service another Faculty, vis; the Faculty of Medical (Clinical) Sciences.

MISSION STATEMENT
  1. To create a Centre of Excellence where competent Doctors and Health Scientists who could be presented with contemporary medical challenges and difficult diagnostic problems are trained.
  2. To attract prospective medical students from all over the world who are yearning to benefit from training at the Baze University Centre of Excellence.
  3. To serve the Federal Capital Territory and outside communities with an efficient medical delivery system.
  4. To produce well trained and confident Doctors and Health Scientists that are worthy to be ambassadors and fit to serve anywhere in the world they find themselves; and
  5. To train confident and efficient Doctors and Health Scientists that can be trusted by exotic patients and thus stem the tide of Medical Tourism abroad. 

The Baze University Management looks forward to the addition of programmes like Nursing Sciences, Dentistry and Pharmacy. With approval from NUC, these will complete a compendium of health programmes in the Centre of Excellence.
